What better way to start 2025 than with some good news?
We are thrilled to announce that Open mSupply is now officially recognised as a Digital Health Global Good by Digital Square- a designation that highlights Open mSupply’s positive impact on healthcare supply chains in low- and middle income countries.
In 2018, when we began rewriting mSupply into an open-source application, our aim was to create a robust, low-cost tool for our partner countries. Being a global good is much more than just providing free software. It also requires attention to sustainability of the project, to having the documentation and tools available so that countries can be active partners and even take ownership of their own digital future.
Being recognised as a Global Good inspires us to keep innovating and building better health supply chain solutions together, but we also know that the real challenge is improving the availability of quality, cost-effective healthcare products from the central warehouse to the last mile. Join us in addressing that challenge!
What are Global Goods?
Think of a Global Good as a superhero for global health and development! It’s:
- Open-source: Accessible and adaptable for anyone.
- Designed for impact: Solving challenges like public health in low- and middle-income countries.
- Equitable: Helping to ensure tools and services reach everyone, everywhere.
Basically, it’s something the world really needs—and Open mSupply is officially on that list!
Here’s to making 2025 a year of even greater impact!
